Local, published prices, not a franchise.
The big junk removal names in Jacksonville are franchises. They are run by local operators, but each one pays a share of every job to a franchisor, and none of them publishes a price list. Young Guns is two owners, one trailer, prices on the website, and a firm number from a photo. Here is the side by side, with sources.
Prices on the page
Our ranges are published, $95 for a single item to $575 for a full trailer. The national brands give a price on site, after the truck has arrived.
A firm number from a photo
Text a picture and get a price before anyone rolls out. Their model is a free on-site estimate, which means scheduling a visit to learn the number.
Not a franchise
No royalty, marketing fee or call center charge leaves Jacksonville. Franchise locations pay the franchisor a percentage of every job, and that cost is in the price.

To be fair: the national brands are established operators with big trucks and plenty of satisfied customers. If you have used one and were happy, nothing here says otherwise. The difference is structure, and structure shows up in the price and in who you deal with.
Comparison questions
- Is a local junk removal company cheaper than a franchise?
- Often, because there is no royalty or marketing fee built into the price, but it depends on the load and the company. The sure way to know is to compare quotes. Ours is published and firm from a photo, so you can compare before anyone comes out.
- Why do the national junk removal brands not publish prices?
- Their own pricing pages say prices are set by truck space and confirmed with a free on-site estimate, and that rates vary by location. Each location is a separate franchise, so a national price list is hard to publish.
- Are the franchise junk removal companies bad?
- No. They are established operators and many customers are happy with them. The difference is that a share of each job goes to a franchisor, and you get the price on site rather than up front.
- Is Young Guns a franchise?
- No. Young Guns is an independent, locally owned business in Jacksonville run by its two owners.
